Practices and Training

During the school year, our practices are mainly on Sundays to accommodate those players in other sports (most all our players are multi-sport athletes). During the summer, we mainly practice on weeknights because tournaments are on weekends. Fall and summer practices/training occurs outdoors at centrally located fields (Hopkins, St. Louis Park, Edina). Winter is indoors and currently we are in Eden Prairie on the edge of Edina at Champions Hall.  In addition to our field practices, we also offer Intensives and Running Mechanics.

INTENSIVE INDIVIDUAL SKILLS SESSIONS

Back by popular demand,  our 2024/2025 season will include  our “Intensives” training. In this format, we focus on the individual skills of a player in smaller groups at an up-tempo, rapid-fire pace. This advances our skill level and is an addition to game-concept work on turf and field spaces.  These high-rep sessions allow our players to gain confidence in individual skills with essentially minimal or no defense (example dodging 100X each: split dodge, change of hands, stutter step = 300 reps dodging) .  Our objective is to help these moves become intuitive in game scenarios and has proven invaluable in developing  “bold” players.

RUNNING MECHANICS

At all levels we bring in an agilities trainer to help our girls to be more explosive and efficient in our running stride.  Sound running mechanics also helps our athletes to stave off injury.

GOALIE TRAINING

We value our goalkeepers and offer dedicated goalie training throughout the year.  Goalies get our robust team training plus goalie-only sessions so you can hone your step, stance, communication, clears and get quicker hands and feet.  Our team of goalies coaches isolate your specific areas of opportunity to help you become the best goalie you can be. Our goalies say these sessions are their favorite part of joining the Club!

Tournaments

As part of a cohesive team, one that trains together and competes together, we have 3 "required" tournaments. With the 10U team, we focus on playing in local tournaments, but at the end of season, we offer the option to travel out of state for regional competition for one weekend.

Example of 2023-2024 Required Tournaments
  • Pumpkin Shootout- October 2023, Blaine, MN
  • Mini 10U Tourney- May 2024, Twin Cities, MN
  • Blue Ox-June 2024, Blaine, MN
Optional Tournaments

If you want to participate in additional "a la carte" events and tournaments, you will have the opportunity to do so. These a la carte events/tournaments are optional and they are offered at an additional cost. All costs will be provided up front so you can make an informed choice whether to do these optional events. These events will be released once they have been confirmed.
