During the school year, our practices are mainly on Sundays to accommodate those players in other sports (most all our players are multi-sport athletes). During the summer, we mainly practice on weeknights because tournaments are on weekends. Fall and summer practices/training occurs outdoors at centrally located fields (Hopkins, St. Louis Park). Winter is indoors and currently we are in Eden Prairie on the edge of Edina at Champions Hall. In addition to our field practices, we also offer Intensives, Running Mechanics, Box and Sixes.
Box Lacrosse Training
In our quest to develop top national players, we offer Box Lacrosse training for all MN Elite 7-12th grade teams! Full equipment is provided as we suit up to get better, faster through practices and games. Box lacrosse promotes precision passing, tighter stick skills, faster thinking with maximum ball reps on an indoor smaller field. There is no additional cost to our players. To learn more about our Box training click HERE.
World Sixes
We hold regular intra-squad Sixes for club members with international rules to help our girls think and play faster! Leading the charge is our very own World Sixes Gold Medalist, Lydia Sutton. This format has exciting rules such as defenders can go through the crease, 30 second shot clock, goalies clear after goals are scored increasing the pace of play. Learning the nuances from the best in the game, Coach Lydia helps us to be more reactive and confident in game situations. To learn more about Sixes described as "Lacrosse on the Audubon" click here.
Intensive Individual Skills Sessions
Back by popular demand, our 2023/2024 winter sessions will include our “Intensives” training. In this format, we focus on the individual skills of a player in smaller groups at an up-tempo, rapid-fire pace. This advances our skill level and is an addition to game-concept work on turf and field spaces. These high-rep sessions allow our players to gain confidence in individual skills with essentially minimal or no defense (example dodging 100X each: split dodge, change of hands, stutter step = 300 reps dodging) . Our objective is to help these moves become intuitive in game scenarios and has proven invaluable in developing “bold” players.
At all levels we bring in an agilities trainer to help our girls to be more explosive and efficient in our running stride. Sound running mechanics also helps our athletes to stave off injury.
As part of a cohesive team, one that trains together and competes together, we have "required" tournaments for the 2027 Team. We are thoughtful in which tournaments we select, participating in the most competitive and high-profile recruiting tournaments for maximum exposure.
Due to a brighter outlook on the COVID-19 pandemic, we will be traveling as a team again with blocked hotel rooms and flights. Tournaments will be all-inclusive to include all costs associated with the tournaments except for airfare. This includes: tournament entrance fee, coaching, hotel, all meals/snacks/beverages, chaperones, recruiting, transportation while at the tournament (air fare/travel to the tournament is an additional cost).
Required Tournaments (TENTATIVE)
IWLCA New England Cup - June 28-30, Amherst, MA (or similar 2027 Gold only)
Pipe City- July 13-14 2024, Vernon Hills, IL
Optional Tournaments
If you want to participate in additional "a la carte" events and tournaments, you will have the opportunity to do so. These a la carte events/tournaments are optional and they are offered at an additional cost. All costs will be provided up front so you can make an informed choice whether to do these optional events. These events will be released once they have been confirmed.
Full Recruiting Support
See where MN Elite players go on to play in college HERE. We provide recruiting seminars throughout the year to provide in-depth education on the college lacrosse recruiting process. As a freshman player, we help prepare you in understanding what to expect the college recruiting journey. The desire to play in college is not a prerequisite to play with MN Elite, instead the desire to be your best is paramount.
